“She is the song that never ends. Yes, she goes on and on, my friends. Some people started singing it not knowing what it was, and they’ll continue singing it forever just because she is the song that never ends…”

Who knew that the theme song from Lamb Chops Play-Along could so perfectly describe an infamous politician running for reelection this year in California! It is only a matter of time before someone uses this in a campaign ad.

When you think about examples of political arrogance, the first name that comes to mind should be Barbara Boxer. This woman has been in politics for so long that if we were classifying congressional species we would have to label her as an ancient creature from the all-to-common must have power genus.

After being in Congress for twenty-seven years, she has developed a characteristic hubris that unapologetically snubs anyone she feels threatens her mountain of authority. Brigadier generals really get under her skin.

There is a profound disconnect between Senator Boxer and the people of California which likely stems from having occupied a “safe seat” for so many years. She is inextricably tied to the wealth-draining “green” agenda and has modeled herself as an automated progressive robot, gorging herself on the power which comes from executing the commands of President Obama and the liberal game plan. Plus, the time away from California has really hurt her sense of style.

Although Democrats love to describe this election cycle as the year of the anti-incumbent, the fury among the electorate is actually directed at the brand of politician that is epitomized by Barbara Boxer—hungry for power and disdainful of constituents. What a great combination!

California is known as the land of the fruits and the nuts, and so it should not be surprising that we send them to Congress.

In the end the blame rests largely with the people. We have allowed career politicians such as Barbara Boxer to be reelected year after year, and we deserve what we elect.

Hopefully, we will not make the same mistake this November.
