Wisconsin Democrats floundered once again in their efforts to halt Gov. Scott Walker’s reforms. Of the 7 Republicans up for recall last night, only 2 were unseated, leaving the GOP still in control of the state Senate. A spokesman for the state Democratic Party spouted allegations of voter fraud but later retracted the accusations. Two Democratic senators are up for recall next week. This should be fun.

MSNBC was all over this special election. Ed Schultz hosted a pep rally for the recall supporters, and Al Sharpton just did his best to sound incoherent while reading his teleprompter. Both were quite disappointed by the results.

According to campaign aides, the Obama re-election strategy is to “kill Romney,” figuratively speaking of course, through a ferocious personal assault on his character and business experience. This is based on the assumption that Romney will be the GOP nominee, but they reserve the right to smear Sarah Palin whether or not she enters the race.
