  • They Said What?

PolitiZoid proves that truth really is stranger than fiction in politics. We use the actual sound bites of your elected officials to let their own words speak for themselves.

And it's working.  At least that's what other people tell us.

Sean Hannity at Fox says we're "the greatest."

Michael Walsh at Big Journalism says we're the next generation of editorial cartoons!  We tend to agree.

Our "Office" parody got on Fox News.

Watch what Nancy Pelosi had to say to ABC This Week about the PolitiZoid episode entitled "Attack of the 50 Foot Pelosi."  She says she hadn't seen it.

Does the Ex-Speaker of the House not glance at the front page of the Washington Post?

Also: The Washington Examiner calls us heroes!  Our moms are very proud; thanks Examiner.

Smack Down

Yesterday, a federal judge delivered another blow to the Obama administration by refusing to dismiss a lawsuit against its third offshore drilling moratorium. Perhaps the Obama administration thought that after issuing three consecutive and slightly altered moratoriums, U.S. District Court Judge Martin Feldman would simply give up trying to block them. This judge has some endurance.

Taking Care of the Border

Arizona has repeatedly requested federal aid for securing its porous border. Senators John McCain and John Kyl have urged the President to send 3,000 additional troops to the state, and he finally responded with a massive surge of 30 National Guard troops and 15 warning signs. This is not even enough to deal with the few protesters in Phoenix! Perhaps all the money for the border was spent suing Arizona and its controversial new immigration law.

“R” Stands for Republican and Racism!

Steve Critchfield of Colorado has received a number of death threats for buying a billboard along US 65 which features a picture of President Obama and reads, “Voted Obama? Embarrassed Yet?” Numerous individuals have criticized the sign for spewing hatred and racism. Among other things, 2010 will go down in history as the year that the term “racism” lost all meaning. Rather than being used in the context of a real human problem, it has become an automatic response to political opposition of the Obama administration. Years from now parents will be telling their kids about the little Democrat who cried racism.

Reason

In an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, Dana Loesch from Big Government provided an impressive response to criticism of the Restoring Honor rally and the Tea Party movement. Her flustered counterpart resorted to comparing it to “when you see your crazy uncle taking his pants off at Thanksgiving. You don’t know whether to laugh or cry. It’s so incredibly offensive, this whole business.” Translation: argument lost, activate escape hatch.

Trying to Break the Tie

One of California’s most exciting attractions this year is the closely watched Senate race between Barbara Boxer and Carly Fiorina. Boxer has been in Washington for centuries, and this is the stiffest competition she has ever received. The drama continued last night as the two opponents faced off in their first debate. The questions covered a wide variety of issues, but most of the answers returned to the economy. All participants were careful not to upset the volcano, always referring to Barbara Boxer as “Senator.” She really did work so hard to get that title.

Controversy is the New Normal

Obama’s Labor Department recently released advertisements instructing illegal immigrants how to obtain fair wages and defend their labor rights. These videos feature Dolores Huerta, the honorary chairperson of Democratic Socialists of America. Aside from this questionable association, it was discovered that Ms. Huerta appeared before a group of high school students praising Hugo Chavez and the humanitarian work of Venezuela and insisting that Republicans hate Latinos. Awesome! If you are liberal and controversial, the Obama administration will find you and give you a job. You can count on it.

Just for fun:

Nothing is off limits these days when it comes to pesky regulations and outright bans. For some bizarre examples of “busybodies minding your own business,” check out Reason TV’s Nanny of the Month.
